Your life: dealing with different temperaments
You have probably noticed that your child is learning something about her own moods, too, and her natural disposition - be it quiet, adventurous, reflective, or communicative - is becoming more apparent. You can gently encourage her to explore different sides of herself but make sure she knows that whatever her temperament, you love and accept her. For instance, you can help a shy child meet other children but never ridicule her if she hangs back. A general respect for how she responds to the world will help her feel secure and confident.
